This residential building, the exact address being Ječná 7, bears the name Věčná Ječná (“Věčná” means “everlasting” or “eternal” in Czech) primarily thanks to its great importance during the latter half of the 20th century. It was one of the most famous haunts for dissidents, and the street was firmly connected to the Czech underground movement.

These days, the district is a highly popular with tourists, who appreciate the close proximity of Karlovo náměstí and Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí) and its ideal access by transport. The location of the building directly offers strolls along the romantic embankment, with views across to Prague Castle.

The building project involves complete renovation, the planned completion of which is due in May 2020. The building is being fitted with a new roof and windows, rewired from top to bottom, with new plumbing and air-conditioning. The historical, original and decorative features of the building will be preserved. The building will also be fitted with a new lift.
